Message from BrightPoint Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Laikin

Community involvement is one of the core values we emphasize to all BrightPoint associates throughout the world. As a company, we have contributed millions of dollars and donated countless hours supporting many worthwhile organizations across the world. We are passionate about creating strong relationships in our communities, and believe that we have a responsibility to share what we have and what we know with others. Our efforts are diversely focused in the areas of education, civic engagement, healthcare, and social services.

We also ask our associates to be personally active in the community and support local and charitable organizations. To encourage this, we offer a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Our associates have organized clothing and food drives, helped rebuild and beautify parks and community centers, and held week-long fundraising events for deserving organizations, among other efforts. I am constantly inspired by their creativity and willingness to help others in the places they call home.

I believe that our commitment to helping others is what sets BrightPoint apart from many other companies, and we will continue to donate our time and expertise to organizations that share our strong values.

Bob Laikin
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, BrightPoint, Inc..

What does Community Involvement mean to our global associates?

"Community involvement is one's generous act of sharing his or her talent, skills, time, energy, finances and other resources for the improvement and greater good of others."

"Working together. Sharing ideas. Bringing change. Communication and commitment."

"Being an active participant rather than a passive bystander in creating a sense of place, belonging, trust, support, and mutual benefit in the community where I live and work."

"It is volunteering to aid or improve the community or a cause without the expectation of receiving anything in return other than the satisfaction of helping others."

"To me, community involvement has several meanings. It means making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate; hungry, homeless, abused, uneducated, etc. It means empowering individuals to provide opportunities for growth and change, and giving more than we receive. It means making people smile! It means loving people."

"It means paying forward all the good things I have been blessed with in my personal and family life, and giving back to the less fortunate."

"Community involvement is an ongoing thing whether you are helping a neighbor when their children are sick or taking in shopping for a retiree. Every small part helps to make a better world."

"Community involvement is something that I believe is critical to society and future generations. It lays the groundwork for those that are less fortunate, and it also brings a society together regardless of race, religion, or backgrounds."
